It’s not every day that a live-animated feature film is announced, but that’s exactly what Disney has done with the upcoming Clouds Of Silver.
The film, set to premiere in 2019, will be the first in a planned trilogy of live-streamed feature films.
Disney released the teaser trailer for the movie on Wednesday, and it was already gaining attention on social media.
It was the second live-video feature film announced for 2019.
In May, the studio announced The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid will be joining the franchise in 2019.
It’s still too early to know what the movie will look like, but it’s clear the studio is looking forward to the opportunity.
“Clouds Of Sils, the first Disney live-film feature film, is finally here.
The studio is delighted to announce that the film will be released in 2019,” said Michael Eisner, president of Pixar Animation Studios.
“It’s the first of its kind in Disney, and we look forward to bringing the magic of Pixar storytelling to fans around the world.”
Clouds will be available on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and Vudaboo starting on March 6.
It’ll be available for streaming on iOS, Android and Apple TV devices.
